Putting together an Easter basket is a great tradition you could start in baby’s first year.
Then as your little one gets bigger you can add more age appropriate toys. Plus once they have opened the presents in their Easter basket you can use the basket for an Easter egg hunt.

Baby’s first Easter basket fillers
When putting together a baby’s first Easter basket you can include anything you want with a little nod to Easter.
The items you pop in don’t have to be specifically about Easter but can just be themed around the characters of Easter or the season.
So think rabbits, chicks, lambs, flowers and butterflies for inspiration when it comes to filling your Easter basket.
At this age you won’t be adding many sweet treats, although if your baby is weaning you may consider adding some baby-friendly options.
There are little bags of weaning snacks, such as carrot flavoured treats, from brands such as Ella’s Kitchen you could add.
Here are some things you could put in an Easter basket:
- A soft toy. A bunny, a chick or a lamb work great for Easter.
- Teething toy.
- A rattle. There are lots of rattles that are shaped like bunnies or other Easter characters.
- A book. Find a book about Easter or something featuring rabbits and chicks.
- A cute outfit. It could be a costume or a Easter themed outfit.
- Bunny ears.
- Bib.
- Socks.
- Cute hat.
- Plate set. You can find little bunny-themed plates and cups.
- Hooded towel. You can find baby towels with little bunny ears.
