You are shiny new customers to them and getting hold of your email address is so important, they’re happy to give you a bunch of stuff to get it.

When signing up for free stuff brands will want your email address, as well as your due date or baby’s birth date and your own birth date too.
If you want to go on a mission to collect as many baby freebies as possible you may want to consider setting up a separate email address to do so.
This frees up your normal email address so you’re not too inundated with ads once you’ve given your email address out. This is entirely up to you. Most of the companies mentioned here will be emailing you relevant and often helpful stuff, so it’s worth being on their lists!
And it may not stop with just the one freebie for signing up. Many companies will send you repeated free gifts over the course of your baby’s early years.
Now some of these freebies will involve receiving vouchers that you need to redeem in-store. Other organisations will offer discounts on products. If you shop smart and use these discounts and vouchers to buy the stuff you really need, rather than being sucked into buying extras, then you can do really well out of the free baby stuff available to UK mums.

These are the best places to find pregnancy freebies in the UK. Some of these will send you stuff specifically for your pregnancy, but others will be useful for the early weeks with your baby.
I particularly recommend getting the Baby on Board badge if you use public transport to get to work!
Free Baby on Board badge
Going to be using public transport during your pregnancy? A Baby on Board badge is a great way of grabbing a seat, which you will need when you’re in the later stages of pregnancy.
Transport for London will send you a free Baby on Board badge. All you need to do is fill out the form online.
Bounty mum-to-be pack
Bounty offers not one but two goodie bags for mums. The first is available during your pregnancy and you can get your hands on it by signing up at the website or downloading the Bounty app.
The pack is available from when you pass 13 weeks in your pregnancy.
This one contains:
- Products and free samples – contents of the pack may vary
- Asda money-off vouchers including 10% off at George at Asda which is great for stocking up on baby clothes
- Tesco money-off vouchers

Emma’s Diary

Free dental care and prescriptions
The NHS will give you free prescriptions and dental care during your pregnancy and in the 12 months after your baby’s due date.
You need to get a form from your GP or midwife so that you can get a card proving you are eligible for this. Generally your midwife will give you this form at your first appointment with them.
Sure Start Maternity Grant
You can get £500 from the government to help towards the cost of having a child if you qualify.

The Amazon Baby Wishlist is a great way to manage your baby registry. You can share the wishlist of the baby essentials you need with your loved ones ahead of your baby shower or due date. They will be happy to know they’re getting you the stuff you really need.

Free wipes from Pura

Healthy Start
Healthy Start vouchers can be used to pay for food, milk and vitamins taken during pregnancy.
You can apply from 10 weeks into your pregnancy if you are claiming the following benefits:
- Child tax credit
- Income support
- Income-based jobseekers’ allowance
- Pension credit
- Universal credit
You can also claim the vouchers if you are under 18 and pregnant.
The vouchers are worth £4.25 a week during your pregnancy from the 10th week, then £8.50 a week for children under one. After your baby turns one you can received £4.25 a week until they are four.
