Recipe: Chocolate cornflake cakes

Is there anything more reminiscent of your primary school years than the classic cornflake cake?

These are so simple to make but they’re absolutely delicious!

Here’s a very simple recipe that your child will love to help you to make.

Makes 12-15

Ingredients

50 g butter
100 g dark chocolate, broken into small pieces
2.5 tbsp golden syrup
80 g cornflakes

Method

1. Place the butter and the chocolate pieces in a saucepan with the golden syrup. Slowly melt over low heat, stirring. When the mixture is well blended, stir in the cornflakes.

2. Place some small paper cake cases on a tray. Fill each one with a heaped tablespoon of the mixture. Put in the fridge to set.

    In french they are called “rose des sables” whichou would translate to sand rose.
    Nice recipe, they look fabulous. I never tried with golden syrup. Only melted chocolate and butter on cornflakes. It s so delicious!
