Pretty summer baby shower ideas
Here comes the son
I love this playful, sunny theme for a mom expecting a baby boy. It’s a gorgeous baby shower theme for an outdoor or gazebo shower in the summer sunshine.

There are no rules when it comes to a colour scheme for this theme, but I personally love the parties that use the cool retro combination of mustard yellow and light blue, with some splashes of orangey red.

You could also add a little splash of gold, using the cutlery, plates or even gold lettering on signage, place settings and cake pops and cookies.

You could have sunshine cookies as party favours, and challenge your guests to decorate onesies with their own sunshine designs.
A little strawberry is due
Strawberries are in season in summer and so they are the perfect inspiration for your summer shower.
Use reds and green, plus maybe even a little pink, for the colour scheme and get a “Little Strawberry is on the Way” banner.
This theme can really shine when it comes to the food, with strawberries and cream, strawberry bruschetta, strawberry with creamy feta cheese and delicious Eton mess making an amazing menu for your party.
Taco ’bout a baby
If you want a riot of colour and a fun fiesta party then a Taco ‘Bout A Baby theme is perfect.

Hot pinks, bright greens and blues combine with llamas, sombreros and, of course, tacos for this fun Mexican theme.
You don’t have to go with ALL the bright colours, you could tone down the shades a little if you want a bit more subtlety in your colour scheme.
I especially love all the options for food and refreshments with this theme. Tacos, of course, nachos and some alcohol-free cocktails with sugar-rimmed glasses.

And for decorations little cactus plants on the table where your guests are eating or where the buffet will be served are so cute.
For activities you could have a pinata for your guests to take a whack at.
A Little Cutie is on the Way
This citrus sweet theme is playful and fun, and the colour combinations are so gorgeous. Plus orange and green just feels ideal for a summer baby shower.

Clementines are typically used as the fruit and colour inspiration at the centre of this theme, however people also mix in other citrus fruits too.
Serve delicious citrus non-alcoholic drinks and scatter clementines amidst greenery to create gorgeous centrepieces.

Lemon squeeze
What goes better with summer than a chilled glass of freshly squeezed lemonade?
This is a perfect theme for a garden baby shower. You could have a lemonade stand with delicious refreshments for your guests to enjoy.

Watermelon wonderland
Remember that iconic quote from Dirty Dancing “I carried a watermelon”? Why not make that quote and the refreshing watermelon the centre of your baby shower theme.
A watermelon theme features bright reds, pinks and greens and amazing inspiration for food and drink. Serve watermelon cooler smoothies alongside vibrant fruit skewers.
What’s the scoop ice cream gender reveal
What’s better on a hot summer day than a delicious scoop of ice cream?
Use pink and blue colours for balloons (including ice cream cone shapes), streamers and food to bring together this fun gender reveal party idea.
Peachy
Life’s a peach with this cool and tasty baby shower idea. Use peach shades and pale greens to create a girly colour scheme.
Use the phrase “sweet as a peach”, “a little peach is on the way” or “a sweet little peach” on your invitations and any signage you plan to use with decorations.
Boho
A boho baby shower is all about relaxed, natural vibes with pretty pale pinks, neutral nude shades and greens.
You could make it rustic with browns and creams, or add a touch a luxury with pampas grass and palm tree leaves.

For a cake, going minimalist looks so pretty in my opinion. Like with this lovely cake, which is all about the topper, from The Cookie Diaries.

Floral
A baby in bloom shower is pretty and feminine. Plus there are so many options when it comes to customising this idea.

You can choose wildflowers to create a rustic, country party, or choose white roses for a minimalist, chic get-together.
Here are a few ideas within this theme to give you inspiration:

- Boho Floral Bloom. Use dried flowers, pampas grass, and macramé decor for a trendy boho vibe. Have a DIY flower crown station for guests.

- Secret Garden Bloom. Think ivy-covered walls, fairy lights, and an enchanted garden feel. Serve finger sandwiches, fruit platters, and floral-topped desserts.

Our Little Sunshine
Your little sunshine is on the way, making summer the perfect time of year to throw a baby shower!
Yellow and pale orange is the obvious colour scheme for this theme. But you could also go for a sunset colour scheme to inject more splashes of purple, pinks and peachy tones too.
Serve guests cookies cut in sunshine shapes and add a banner saying “a ray of sunshine is on the way” to bring this theme together.
Mommy to Bee
This is a really buzzing baby shower idea!
Use yellow, green, cream and white colours, and why not offer your guests sweet treats such as these mouth-watering bee cookies.

You could also serve cupcakes such as these absolutely stunning bee designs from Sweet Shop Creations by Sara.

Beachy vibes
Don’t live near the beach? Doesn’t matter! You can still make this fun theme work.
Use blues, greens and a little splash of pink in your colour scheme, or you could stick with sandy neutral colours with a little splash of green.
Rustic decor is a good way to go, serving food on reclaimed wood boards and using shells to decorate tables will look fabulous.
Babychella
The arrival of summer also heralds the arrival of festival season! If the mama-to-be is someone who loves their music then a Coachella-themed party is a great choice.
You could style this theme with a boho vibe, using neutral and pale shades of pink along with pampas grass and pretty tassel garlands.

Alternatively you could pick a jazzier colour scheme, with hot pink, bright yellow and bright turquoise.
This is an ideal theme to hold in the garden. You could have a low table with cushions on the ground or create a pretty seating area with wicker chairs, pampas grass and balloons.
Don’t forget to create a cool playlist for the party.
Vintage outdoors
A vintage garden tea party makes for a sophisticated theme for your baby shower.
Use bird cages filled with flowers, old jam jars filled with wildflowers and vintage tea cups and saucers for pretty and practical decor.
Ready to pop-sicle
Everyone loves a delicious cold ice popsicle on a hot summer day. Grab some popsicle shaped balloons, and maybe even a sun-shaped balloon, for your decor.
Don’t forget to serve popsicles in plenty of different flavours too.
Flamingo fiesta
A flaming hot flamingo fiesta features a riot of pink and pretty flamingos to create a bright and playful baby shower.
Use shades of pink for your balloons, with some splashes of white, plus flamingo-shaped balloons and little drink decorations where you can.
