If anyone deserves a bit of pampering, it’s a new mummy.
You’re absolutely exhausted from the hours and hours of labour and delivery, and now there’s the not so small matter of a baby to contend with!
It’s a tough time, and one of the things that makes it bearable is a bit of self-care, doing something for yourself that helps you relax and makes you feel good.
After having both of my kids and spending a few nights on the maternity ward to recover, I was desperate to have a shower at home and feel a bit more normal again.
And as time went on and my babies showed themselves to be quite exhausting considering they were so tiny, I found more and more that giving myself a bit of time out to look after me on the outside made the world of difference to how I felt inside.
But it’s also nice to give our little ones a little attention too, particularly as caring for that delicate little skin with a massage or a lovely bath is also great for bonding too!
So with that in mind, I’m going to share with you some of my favourite mummy and baby pampering products. There are some fabulous ideas here for treating yourself or a new mum.
Neal’s Yard Remedies for Mummy and Baby
This beautiful range of natural organic health and beauty products makes a lovely selection of goodies for mum and baby.
For mums, many of the products are also fab during pregnancy to help relax and unwind, and keep the skin firm and supple. One of my fave sets is the mummy gift box, which contains Mother’s Balm, Mother’s Bath Oil and Mother’s Massage Oil. I think most dads are looking for ways they can support mum before and after birth, so the massage oil is a perfect gift for both parents!
And for the little on in your life there is also a gorgeous range of gentle products including the Baby Balm, which helps keep newborn skin soft, Pure Baby Oil, which is perfect for massage, and the Baby Bath and Shampoo, with a relaxing smell of lavender.

Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter
The skin on your tummy can definitely do with a bit of love and attention before and after birth. This moisturizer keeps skin soft and smooth during your pregnancy and beyond!
Clarins Bust Beauty Firming Lotion
This rich lotion promises to restore bust tone and firmness! We all know that area could do with a bit of a lift and extra TLC after baby, regardless of whether you’re breastfeeding!
Tinted Moisturiser
When we’ve just had a baby, we don’t want to be worrying too much about make-up, but we’re also aware that due to lack sleep we look like an extra from The Walking Dead. That’s why tinted moisturizer is so fab. You can just apply it in less than a minute and it gives you that bit of cover you need to nip out for a walk.
Lip balm
Breastfeeding makes you seriously thirsty and if you do get a bit dehydrated from time to time, your lips will suffer. Having a lip balm within reach at all times was an essential for me in the early months.
What are your favourite pampering products? Was there anything you received as a gift after having your baby that really helped? What products do you use on your baby? I would love to hear from you.
