What a lovely surprise to have been nominated not once but twice for the Blogger Recognition Award this week!

Thank you so much to the lovely Noleen at Miller in the City and to Helen at Natural Beauty with Baby for nominating me.

Noleen blogs all about topics that matter to her, from parenting to lifestyle. Helen blogs about natural skincare, with a view to helping parents find healthy alternatives to products found in chemists and supermarkets.

Check them both out, they’re brilliant blogs!

What is the Blogger Recognition Award?

This award is passed on by bloggers to fellow bloggers, who appreciate their hard work and effort they invest in each and every post. It is is also a great way to connect with other bloggers and read their blogs.

How I started my blog

I decided to launch The Mummy Bubble after a lot of overthinking it. I had a ton of ideas, but I just couldn’t work up the courage to take the plunge and it all seemed a bit daunting.

I was also worried no one would want to read what I had produced. In the end I decided I had nothing to lose so I went for it.

I’m so glad I did. That was three months ago and I have since gone self-hosted, had my first sponsored post, been sent a few freebies and, most importantly, thoroughly enjoyed writing for and nurturing my blog.

Two pieces of advice for new bloggers

Get social

Part of the fun of blogging is getting involved with the community. Sign up to linkys, they are a fab way of giving and receiving comments on your posts. Don’t just share your own content, share the blog love and share other blogs you enjoy.

Write what you know and love

There’s no point writing about stuff you don’t feel passionate about. I find the words pour out of me because I’m writing about raising my kids, who I adore. Yes they drive me bonkers some days, and that’s why the blog has been so important to me. It’s a place for me to vent after a long and trying day.

It’s also where I write down my practical experiences and SOS tips. I don’t necessarily have all the right answers, but I like to share what has worked for me as I know I needed all the information and advice I could get in the early days.
