It’s time to start making the Christmas list – unless you fancy flapping about in a panic on December 24th!

I’ve teamed up with Smyths Toys to do the hard for you and picked up some brilliant gift ideas from the brand new catalogue, which is out this week.

BABIES

1. Playgro Music and Lights Piano Kick Pad (£16.99)

Tummy time can be so tricky when you have a little one who just hates being on their front.

This fab toy can make tummy time fun by distracting your baby with lots of lights and noisy buttons.

2. VTech Sleepy Bear Sweet Dreams Mobile (£29.99)

One of the biggest struggles for new parents is getting baby to go to sleep, and to stay asleep in their own bed.

A relaxing cot mobile can help to lull baby to sleep and keep them relaxed in their own bed.

This one projects pretty lights on the ceiling for baby to gaze at.

3. Baby Einstein Neighbourhood Friends Activity Jumper (£79.99)

We had this jumper for our two girls and both loved bouncing around in it. The jumper is suitable from six months and is perfect for keeping a curious baby occupied.

4. Fisher-Price Giraffe Sit Me up Floor Seat with Tray (£35.99)

Suitable for babies who can hold up their head unaided, this seat gives little ones somewhere to chill out and watch the world go by. It also comes with a snack tray, which is perfect for weaning.

5. Lamaze Jibber Jabber Jake (£12.99)

The Lamaze range of toys are so brilliant for stimulating your child’s senses. The toys rattle, have lots of different funky colours and the fabrics have different textures for your child to explore.

6. Fisher Price Rainforest Music and Lights Deluxe Gym (£49.99)

A play mat is the perfect place for your little one to have a kick and stretch while you play with them, or sit back to take a little break.

This one has lots of beautiful bright colours and toys to hang from the arches that stretch above the mat, giving your baby lots to look at.

7. LeapFrog Shapes and Sharing Picnic Basket (£22.99)

Who doesn’t love a picnic? Let your baby hold their very own picnic party, while learning about shapes, with this gorgeous basket set.

The picnic food comes in a variety of shapes which can be popped into the correct shaped holes in the basket.

8. VTech First Steps Baby Walker (£29.99)

This is such a versatile toy and it keeps little ones entertained for hours! The front panel of this walker can be detached and put flat on the floor for little ones to play with the buttons and various features.

When your child is learning to walk, pop the noisy panel back onto the walker and your child can take their first steps with a little extra help.

9. VTech Baby Play and Learn Activity Table (£29.99)

A brilliant way to encourage kids to stand up, this activity table has loads going on. With buttons, music, animal sounds and lots more.

10. Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone (£8)

I had one of these toys when I was little! I’m so glad they are still being sold.

The simplest toys are often the best. This is an old dial style telephone with wheels and a cord to pull it along. Hours of fun!

TODDLERS

1. Mega Bloks Deluxe Building Bag (£19.99)

Let your child’s imagination run wild with their first set of building blocks. These are fab because the blocks are nice and big and they fit together really easily. Perfect for building those first towers.

2. 100 Piece Wooden Train Set and Table (£99.99)

If you’re looking to really push the boat out this Christmas, this is a real showstopper of a gift.

The table – which is the perfect height for toddlers and pre-schoolers – comes with a drawer for storing all the pieces in when playtime is over.

Pieces include cars, cows, people and buildings, which can be used to decorate the wooden railway track.

3. B. Rocking Unicorn (£44.99)

Add some extra magic to your little one’s bedroom with this rocking unicorn. It’s sure to become their new favourite toy.

4. Little Chef Play Kitchen (£49.99)

If you have a little one who is desperate to get involved with cooking the dinner, let them practice first with this lovely red play kitchen. It features an oven, hob, sink and microwave.

5. Baby Annabell (£44.99)

Baby Annabell sounds just like a real baby. She even wets her nappy, yawns, cries tears and sleeps. Perfect for children who want to play at being mummy or daddy.

6. PJ Masks Costume (£19.99)

Let your child dress up as Owlette, Gecko or Catboy and play at saving the day. These fab costumes will delight little fans of the cartoon.

7. Doc McStuffins Toy Hospital Bag Playset (£22.99)

Featuring a play thermometer, syringe, otoscope, ID badge, stickers and a light-up stethoscope, this will give your child brilliant inspiration for imaginative play.

8. Aquadoodle Super Rainbow Deluxe (£24.99)

This magical mat is perfect for little artists. Fill the pen with water and run it over the magic mat to draw. As the mat dries, the designs fade away so your child can draw again.

9. Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson (£6.99)

This is one of my children’s favourite books. It’s so fun to read and full of beautiful illustrations of jungle animals.

Adding to your child’s book collection is a great way to spark their imagination this Christmas.

10. Fairy 12” Bicycle (£44.99)

With a basket at the front and a rear seat to carry their favourite doll, your child will love this bicycle. Featuring fun fairy illustrations on the basket and bicycle frame, this is a fab way to get your child into cycling.

So those are my top picks from the Smyths Toys catalogue for Christmas. Which is your favourite?
