What my toddlers are wearing this summer

It’s never been harder to rein in my clothes shopping addiction than during the summer when the outfits get even cuter.

While I love treating myself, treating the kids is just so much more fun and the clothes for toddler girls seem to get better and better every year.

Ever since I found out I was having my first daughter I have loved browsing baby clothes. It’s so much funny looking at all of the cute little outfits online and in the shops, but nothing compares to seeing your child in a new dress or pair of shorts.

Now that I have two toddlers, I get just as much of a thrill out of dressing them up.

Me and my eldest get into a lot of debates about clothes and while we often do agree on what she should wear, she has been putting her foot down with me a lot on what she doesn’t want to wear.

As a result an adorable pair of floral-patterned dungaree shorts from Primark had to be put away in the loft for her sister to, hopefully, wear one day because my eldest has flat out rejected them. I was pretty gutted, but she knows her own mind!

Since the weather has been amazing recently I’ve been taking lots of pictures of the girls playing outside, so I thought I would share some of my favourite items from their summer wardrobe!

I’ve started twinning them a lot more recently and I absolutely love doing it! They have a couple of matching pretty dresses and some adorable denim dungaree shorts from Mothercare that I just love to see them in.

However it will be interesting when my youngest starts showing more of an opinion about what she wears. I’m sure our twinning days will be over soon, but I’m going to make the most of it while I can!

These are my top picks of what the girls are wearing at the moment:

La Coqueta skirt

The pretty pale stripe pattern on this skirt is stunning but my absolutely favourite thing about this skirt is the little braces with frills.

I like to pair it up with her Strong Girls Club tee from Mutha.Hood but it looks equally good with a pretty pink or white tee.

La Coquetta has lots of other beautiful girls clothing.

Next dresses

These simple pink Next dresses have a floral detail around the neckline and on the short sleeves. They are perfect for hot summer days!

Denim dungaree shorts

These shorts from Little Bird by Jools at Mothercare are so adorable. I love the rainbow pattern that features throughout the designs in this range and how retro the style is. These dungarees can be worn with or without a top on underneath.

Denim Primark dress

More denim! This one is a nice pale shade and was a Primark bargain. I forget exactly how much it was, but it was definitely less than £10.

Mothercare butterfly dress

I love the bright pink tulle skirt of this summer dress. Both of my daughters have this dress and it’s been perfect for parties this summer.

Bright Primark top

This Primark top was just £5 and goes with jeans or shorts. It’s lovely and light, but also keeps my eldest’s shoulders covered, which helps to protect her delicate skin from the sun.
