Treating your loved one this Valentine’s Day

When your beautiful baby arrived you and your other half became more than just partners, you’re now parents above all else.

But does romance have to go out of the window the second you bring a little bundle of joy home from the hospital? Absolutely not. In fact I would say marking Valentine’s Day is even more important than ever once you become a parent.

You’re surviving on hardly any sleep, all you talk about is the children and you can’t remember the last time you treated yourselves to anything.

That’s why my dear fellow parent you absolutely owe it to yourself and your other half to celebrate the most romantic day of the year.

If you’re anything like me, Valentine’s Day will be spent at home, because all our usual babysitters are out celebrating like normal grown ups.

But there are plenty of ways to mark the occasion at home and show your special someone that you care.

One of these is of course by finding the perfect gift. You don’t have to search high and low and spend thousands on a rare diamond to prove your affection. I’ve teamed up with Debenhams and done the hard work for you! Ladies share this with your other halves, but take note that some of these gifts can be for the boys too!

Check out these gorgeous Valentine’s gift ideas, just a selection of the goodies available from the Debenhams website here.

Gabrielle Chanel perfume (£79)

Nothing says romance like Chanel. This beautiful fragrance comes in the classic, luxurious Chanel packaging we all recognise.

The scent is light and floral. Perfect for special occasions as well as every day.

Ice cream maker (£18)

I love the idea of giving this as a gift, it’s a perfect combination of fun and romantic. The perfect gift for the foodie in your life, you and your other half could have a night in the kitchen where you create your own unique ice cream flavour combinations.

A great gift for a hubby or a wifey.

I love presents like this that you can enjoy together.

Lingerie

I’ve been living in Bridget Jones-style granny pants for far too long. I just forget to get rid of my post-baby comfy pants. They’re still essential wear for me, but I love this beautiful red floral set from Janet Reger.

The colour is simply stunning. This set (£12.50 for the knickers and £24 for the bra) is perfect for giving you a confidence boost and your other half a treat too.

Plus the benefit of new underwear goes well beyond feeling special at home. Even though no one else will see them, there’s something about having brand new gorgeous undies that make you feel that bit more confident.

This set is really comfy and pretty too! This is the first new underwear I’ve had since having kids that didn’t also double up as a nursing bra. Bonus!

Make-up

The Bobbi Brown crushed lipstick in Baby is beautiful

Now that I have two children growing out of clothes constantly, it’s rare I treat myself to some new make-up.

This Bobbi Brown blush in nude peach (£20) is my go-to product for giving my face a bit of colour no matter how right the night has been.

I’ve never been much of a fan of lipstick. I prefer lip balm or gloss. However this Bobbi Brown crushed lip lipstick (£24) feels so much like a lip balm, I’m totally in love with it! If doesn’t feel dry or heavy at all. The baby shade is just so feminine and pretty.

Champagne and two glasses (£55)

There’s no better way to mark a special occasion than with a bottle of bubbles! They just immediately put you in that celebratory, relaxed mood before you’ve even taken a sip of the delicious fizzy liquid.

This box set is a gorgeous gift. It comes with two beautiful glasses and is presented in a lovely box with a bottle of luxurious Laurent Perrier champagne.

Use this as an opportunity to toast how amazing you and your other half are at handling this parenting lark.

So what are your plans this Valentine’s Day? Will you be doing something romantic at home?
