Review: Storksak Mini-Fix changing bag

Review of the Storksak Mini-Fix changing bag

My new favourite thing – the Storksak Mini-Fix

I love being a mum – I just don’t want to carry a changing bag that screams it out loud.

I’m a mum who has to have it all when it comes to changing bags – I want them to stash all the stuff I need but to not look like a children’s bag covered in cupcakes and rainbows.

I want them to have all the function of a changing bag, but to be something I would happily carry when I don’t have the kids in tow.

And when it comes to size, I’ve realised after two and a half years of kids that sometimes you don’t want or need to lug everything around with you.

Sometimes all you need is a clean nappy and some wipes – the ultimate must-have parenting product.

So I was really excited when I saw Storksak – my favourite baby changing bag brand – was bringing out a cross body bag that looked beautiful and was just big enough to carry the essentials.

The Storksak Mini-Fix really is just what I’m looking for in a changing bag for quick trips out – convenient and stylish enough to carry as a handbag when the kids aren’t around.

It comes in black, navy and leopard print. I chose the last option, because I think this pattern is pretty but definitely not for the kids.

The Storksak Mini-Fix is just the right size to fit in the essentials for a trip out

But it doesn’t just deliver on style, the bag has a function that I’ve never seen on others but now don’t know how I would live without.

There’s a pocket inside where you can slip a pack of wipes. On the outside is a handy flap that gives you access to the pack in a flash. All you need to do is feed a wipe through the gap and you’re ready to go.

The wipes compartment is a brilliant feature

When you’re done, a magnetic catch brings the flap back into place with zero fuss.

Having been out and about with this bag a few times I can honestly say this has made my life so much easier.

Brilliant for dealing with young children on-the-go

We visited Birdworld near Farnham this weekend. I did bring a large rucksack with snacks and lunch for the kids.

But the Mini-Fix bag was brilliant. Every time the kids hands needed wiping, or a seat needed wiping before we could use it, the wipes were right there within seconds. No rooting around in a bag or struggling to find them in the buggy basket.

As well as the section for wipes, there is another inside the bag that fits nappies, my purse, keys and phone. I can even fit a few spare bits of clothing in there.

Inside the bag is two compartments

There’s a slip pocket on the other side of the bag which has a changing mat inside. So you’re all set for on-the-go nappy changes.

What’s great about the size is you can always ditch the strap and pop it into your bigger changing bag so you have a handy go-to changing kit ready to pull out when you’re on longer days out.

My only critique would be I would like a little pocket inside that you can slip your phone or keys in so they don’t get lost under other things.

The key items I can fit into the new Mini-Fix – just the right bits for a quick trip out with my two kids

I would definitely buy this as a gift for a new mum or recommend it to a friend.

This bag is brilliant for mums who want style and function. When it comes to bags at least, we can have it all!
